Choosing the right hardwares or components or peripherals for Hackintosh is very important. Because, OSX is not hardware independent like Windows. Every Mac has it's own Build or Model number.
You can always make your existing Custom PC or laptop a Hackintosh or hackbook, Of-course with a little tweak and tricks.
But it's always up to you, which components you choose. Always remember, the costliest
